A quaint little piece of heaven nestled in a small town in southwest Texas. Camp Wood is a great place for swimming, tubing, kayaking, bike riding, fishing, hunting, bird watching and just plain relaxing. If your looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life or you want to enjoy nature at its finest, then Camp Wood is the place. Ever wonder what it's like to stay in an RV. Vintage RVs surrounding a open and picturesque patio. Each RV sleeps at least 2, there are twin beds in the larger RVs. And if you need more room, there are couches to sleep on and a table that will covert to a bed in the RVs. And the cabin itself will sleep up to 9. There is a fully functional kitchen in the main cabin and grills for outside cooking. There is a bath house for showering and laundry. Or you can use the shower in the Cable Cabin shower. There is no hot water in the trailers, but the showers do work. Everything has AC and Wifi. Rent the entire area for a base rate of $400 per night, with a 2 night minimum, plus a $100 cleaning fee and taxes. $50 pet fee for 35lbs or less, limit 2. All pets must be crated while inside. The outside is great for letting them get out and stretch their legs, but while indoors, they MUST be in pet crates. The entire property is surrounded by a privacy fence so there's no worry about them running off. If it's a nice quiet place to relax you want, then this is the place. Cool mornings to enjoy coffee and watching the sun come up. And cool evenings to enjoy looking up at the stars with friends and family. There is a gas grill for cooking out or wood burning pit to use for cooking or just sitting around the fire. Couple blocks down the road is the Nueces River with some of the cleanest and clearest water in the US. There is swimming and fishing available. The most beautiful swimming areas around is the Nueces off River Road, the Dam Dam off Hwy 55, and McDonalds crossing. All are clean and clear and great for cooling off during the hot days of summer. And after a long hot day of swimming, fishing, hunting, or just plain relaxing in the sun, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off or just plain cool off. And for those avid hunters, Camp Wood has that too. During hunting season, you can enjoy hunting for wild game, turkey, and hogs. Wild game such as black buck, axis, red deer and other exotics. You can find out more about the hunting possibilities by contacting the many hunting areas around Real and Edward's Counties. There are restaurants for eating out and two small grocery stores for those times to cook and eat with family and friends. To name a few restaurants there is Casa de Falcon, the Corner Store, Two Fatboys BBQ, and Camp Wood Cafe. And short drive to Barksdale is the Chicken Coop. Uvalde is but a 35 minute drive on South Hwy 55. Barksdale and Rocksprings is the opposite way down North Hwy 55. Del Rio is an 2 hour drive south. Along the way down to Del Rio, is Kickapoo State Park or Lake Amistad. Also, Leakey has some nice little shops and other eateries to enjoy down CR 337 and over the hills. So, we welcome all visitors for some wholesome, clean family fun in the small town of Camp Wood, Texas. We are in the process of a full remodel and hope to be complete by June 13th. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms house fully equipped. This hidden gem just outside of Uvalde with private access to the Nueces River from the end of the property. Beautiful views of Chalk Bluff. At night you have the most amazing chance to star gaze. Need to get away from the crowds. Full moon this Haloween, make your booking now! Fall can be very beautiful with great temperatures, beautiful stars and colorful leaves. A good day trip is Lost Maples State Park and well as Garner State Park. This is a two bedroom home with a very short walk to the Dry Frio River (across the street). A large wood deck awaits with trees coming through and where it is shaded almost all day. The cabin is located in a very secluded area approximately 30 minutes to Concan and the Frio River. The Dry Frio River is spring fed and never dry in the area. Come sit and relax under the trees, barbecue on the large grill or the smaller Weber. Fully stocked kitchen, stove, oven and microwave. Pets welcome! Interior features include queen bed and two bunk beds. Fully stocked kitchen and large sectional couch with 55" TV. There is hiking, swimming and a pavilion with basketball hoop. There is a hiking trail across from the ranch entrance hike to the top for a wonderful view, see attached picture or lay around in the river and relax. You should know this is a remote location with approximately a thirty minute ride to a store or gas. Being remote you avoid the large crowds of Concan, but if that is what you want about a thirty minute ride will take you to Concan and local restaurants, the Frio River and golf. This is the first time on the market for Lil Green. Come and enjoy what we have been for years.

This cabin has an open floor plan with many sleeping options. It has 1 Queen size bed, eight twin beds, and a Queen size sofa/bed. This is an open concept bunk house mentality.

The Bunkhouse has a welcoming cozy feel and was designed to accommodate our two kids and our 7 grandkids. Both bedrooms have a full bath, are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The covered deck is large and accommodating with ample seating, a well-equipped kitchen area, and a breakfast table. The yard space is shaded most of the year with our pecan trees. There is also a charcoal BBQ pit, two picnic tables, and a firepit. As you can see in the pics, we built the Bunkhouse onto our barn. We still have a few miniature horses around, a few dwarf goats(we drink the milk!) and some random chickens, dogs, and cats. They won't bother you, but are available to see if you would like "the tour". Swimming the full one mile of our river is a unique adventure. We have the Blue Hole, the Emerald Pot, the Slip & Slide, and let's not forget the Katfish Kitchens. We will have a map to guide you along the river! The Bunkhouse area is entirely yours, with plenty of parking area for your vehicle(s). If interested in seeing or participating, we still have some goats and chickens around the barn that need daily attention from us. Our house is nearby, but we are available if needed. Access to the river amounts to one full mile of both sides of our river(the Dry Frio). You will be able to walk up or down the river, look for fossils, or hang out at one of our favorite swimming spots. Bring your floats, lots of guests use their "pop-ups" and make a home base where they are hanging out. We are very remote! It is 35 miles to Uvalde, the closest grocery store. Be sure and bring the food you want to eat and any other supplies you want on your stay here. Fill up your gas tank in your vehicle before you arrive. It is 18 miles to Concan, the closest convenience store. Leakey and Uvalde are both about 35 miles from the Bunkhouse! Pets are allowed with prior approval and EACH pet will require a $50 pet fee.{1 pet-$50 pet fee, 2 pets-$100 pet fee, 3 pets-$150 pet fee.) Pets must be housebroken and well behaved. Pets are not allowed to roam freely out of the owner's sight. We do have a large carrier that we keep on the porch for your pets (and your) enjoyment. We will make driving instructions and access information available a week before your arrival. GPS instructions seem to work if you plug in our address, but just in case, we will send instructions via email.

The Chimney house is brand new construction, thoughtfully designed for the perfect river get away. Located just off the banks of the Dry Frio (which is NOT dry!) You will find everything you need to rest, relax and enjoy your time at the river. The Chimney House is a one room cabin with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, queen bed, two single beds in the loft and an amazing front porch perfect for watching the sunset with a cold beverage or a nice family dinner. The porch has a huge outdoor sofa sectional and a outdoor dining table. There is also a charcoal grill with all of the necessary grilling tools. This house is perfect for singles, couples or small families. ***Children should be old enough to safely climb a ladder if they plan to sleep in the loft. The lot that this house is on goes all the way down to the river, although it is about 500 feet away. It is an easy walk down to a beautiful waterfront! The community owns a one-mile stretch of the river with common area on either side which is yours to explore while you are guests at the Chimney House. ***There IS Air conditioning. There IS NOT internet, cell service or TV*** FAQ's: How far is the river from your house? ~ Our house is located on the river but it is about a 500 foot walk down to the waterfront. How deep is the river? ~ The waterfront at this house is one of the best swimming spots on our section of the river. It is a mix of shallow up to about 4-5 foot swimming holes. The community owns a mile long stretch of the river that you are free to explore! Exploring the river is one of our favorite family activities! Can you go tubing there? ~ There are definitely float-able spots in the river but you cannot do a point-to-point float in our river. If you would like to do that, your best be is to drive into Concan. How far are you from...?: Concan - 25 minutes (nearest gas station and basic groceries) Garner State Park - 30 minutes Leakey - 40 minutes Uvalde - 40 Minutes San Antonio - 2 hours Austin - 3 hours and 15 minutes Houston - 4 hours and 45 minutes Dallas - 6 hours Is this a good location for children? ~ This is an excellent location for children! Due to the river depth, there are sections that are good for both younger children and more experienced swimmers. Children are absolutely welcome. Are pets allowed? ~ Pets are allowed with prior approval. Pets must be house broken and well behaved. Pets are not allowed to wander out of owners sight. *Also, there is a very friendly dog that lives next door and is usually there on the weekends. Your pet should get along with other dogs if you plan to bring them. *** I must warn you, this house is 25 minutes from the nearest gas station and 40 minutes from the nearest grocery store. It is in your best interest to plan well and bring everything you will need for your stay so you can stay put and enjoy your visit.
